Whilst we may well appear to be the Lytham new kids on the block, at Gadsden Coupe, we have actually been practicing law for over 50 years, and it is that which sets us apart from the rest.
David Coupe originally set up Coupe Bradbury, a legal practice in Kirkham, Lancashire, all those years ago, before moving to scenic Lytham St. Annes in the 1980s. Emma Gadsden joined the practice in 2003 as a trainee solicitor working alongside David Coupe and has since enjoyed a highly successful career as a private client lawyer both with Coupe Bradbury and with national firm Excello Law.
David and Emma have now got together to launch Gadsden Coupe, a legal firm that puts the clients firmly at the heart of everything we do. Gadsden Coupe is the successor practice to Coupe Bradbury’s private client department. Private Client means the professional services provided to clients including:
- (a) the drafting and putting in place of Wills;
- (b) the administration of a deceased person’s estate in all its aspects;
- (c) the drafting and putting in place of both Lifetime Settlements and Will Trusts;
- (d) advising clients on estate planning strategies in order to make adequate continuing provision for them during their lifetimes and subject to that transferring their wealth to succeeding generations of their families (and others) in a tax-efficient way or to charities or charitable objects;
- (e) advising clients on estate planning strategies in order to protect family members who are vulnerable;
- (f) drafting and putting in place Lasting Powers of Attorney both for property & financial affairs and health & welfare;
- (g) advising and giving guidance to clients on claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family & Dependants) Act 1975 or defending such claims;
- (h) advising on the potential to make or defend a claim arising from the negligent drafting of Wills or trusts by others or arising from want of knowledge and approval, undue influence, mistake or other factors giving rise to claims relating to a deceased person’s estate or lifetime giving;
- (i) the safe-custody of Wills, Powers of Attorney and Settlements on behalf of clients;
- (j) the administration of Trusts and Settlements year-by-year;
- (k) advising and providing services to charities and those who are within the beneficiary class of charities
If your Will was previously held by Coupe Bradbury it is now held by us. We are still operating from the same premises on Bath Street, so we are really easy to find for clients past, present and future.
